BBC Performing Arts Fellowship
Funded by and in partnership with the BBC, I have managed and delivered two BBC Performing Arts Fellowships for EFDSS with Maz O'Connor and Rosie Hood.
Working closely with the artists over a whole year, these fellowships allow the artist to develop their skills and experiences to support their professional development.
Activities included mentoring, showcases, international development, professional support and more.
UK Market Development
Working both formally and informally with artists from the UK and North America, I work with artists and their teams to work on opportunities and strategies for career and audience development. In the Autumn of 2018 I am working with Canadian band Bon Débarras on their first visit to the UK.
I have developed and delivered four large scale residentials for groups of artists, each covering a different aspect of professional development
2014 - a group of 25 emerging artists on a business and creative retreat of 4 days, with a range of speakers, artists and elements of how to develop and sustain a professional career
2015 - a second group of 25 young artists on a 3-day songwriting retreat lead by experienced writers Steve Knightley, Nancy Kerr and Oh Susanna, and concentrated on the mechanics of being a professional songwriter
2016 - a group of 20 artists including 2 North Americans who were invited to a writing retreat. The 3-days was mostly artist lead, but with structure to encourage deadlines and co-writing.
2017 - a group of 20 artists put together for 3-days to network, write, and share experiences of life as an artist; aim to broaden networks and connections. This was a pilot for future work.

Having attended over 25 trade fairs and events around the world, I have experience of working directly with over 40 artists who have showcased at significant industry conferences in the UK, North America, and Europe.
I helped them prepare for the rigours of showcasing at trade events through formal and organised group training sessions, one-to-one advice and support, and finding suitable industry professionals and mentors where appropriate.
As an extension of the work on the Apsire Project with Paul Hamlyn Foundation, and as a direct response to artistic need, I organised and managed a two-day performance development residential for 22 emerging artists.
